Masturbation Myth Debunkers, part 3

This is a continuation of our aim to debunk some of the myths that surround the act of jerking off and enjoying yourself.

If you overdo masturbation you will run out of semen

Palpable nonsense, a man produces semen throughout his life, and whether masturbating or having intercourse, semen is naturally replaced.

Masturbating can turn you gay

Not true. Masturbation has no effect upon a human’s sexual persuasion whatsoever. Simply because as a man you like to play with your own body does not infer for one moment that you like to play with another man’s.

Habitual masturbation means you can’t get aroused any other way

Masturbation is a natural and healthy and it does not detract from responsiveness felt when in contact with a partner. One of the advantages of masturbation is that it can help you to learn about your own body and your own sexual responses to stimulation. Jerking off can also help to train men to offset ejaculation for longer while women can learn what an orgasm feels like and how to reproduce it during lovemaking.

Masturbation spreads STD’s and AIDS

You cannot get AIDS or any other sexually transmitted disease from playing with yourself. These diseases are spread through sexual contact with an infected partner. If you have HIV for example, you have the disease whether you masturbate or not. You won’t get the disease merely by playing with yourself. Manual sex with a partner–that is where you touch the partner’s organs with your hands, and vice versa-could theoretically provide an opportunity for the transmission of some kinds of sexually transmitted diseases, especially if semen or blood from one person comes in contact with the broken skin of the other person.

About the author

Hi, I’m Joseph O’Connor. I am a twenty-six year old man from Texas, USA. I fell into writing about sex toys when I was looking for a way to both try new things and explore my body… Things progressed rapidly. It turns out there aren’t many (straight) men that can talk about sex the way I do without getting downright ridiculous. I’m always reading more/learning about the human body and sexual response and always looking for ways to improve my sex life (and that of those I come in contact with)
